Football picks October 10th and 11th

This is the week that the Guru gets into positive ground with the college picks in a big way. I feel really good about all of these picks.

Virginia Tech (-13) vs. Boston College- 13.5 sounds like a lot of points because VA Tech just squeaked by the Blue Devils last week. That was a classic example of looking forward to this weeks game. BC is 4-1 and is the only team in the way for a Hookie ACC championship. Trust me when I say VA Tech had this game circled on the calendar this year, they will be prepared and cover the 13 points.

Iowa (-7.5) vs. Michigan- Michigan’s Tate Forcier has been playing lights out as a Freshman but took his first loss last week on the road, and he is on the road again this week. Forcier was also listed as probable this week with a bruise set of ribs so his athletic ability may be not as good as in weeks past. Iowa has a fantastic D, and will shut Michigan down for the 2nd straight week. Lay the 8.

UCLA(+3.5) vs. Oregon- UCLA has a fantastic defense and will be able to shut down Oregon’s strength in the running game. This game is being played at the Rose Bowl and the Bruins are getting 3.5 points, I think the odds makers got this one wrong, take the 3.5.

Florida(-8) vs. LSU- Who cares if Tebow doesn’t play, that doesn’t replace the fact that Florida has 11 returning starters on D, what is Jordan Jefferson going to do about that?

Ravens(-8) vs. Bengals- So you think Cincinnati is going to win 2 big games in a row, I don’t think so, to me they are the Bengals until they win two big games in a row. Lay the 8

Raiders(+17)vs. the Giants- Russell is due to have a big game,ok well just maybe an average game, why not against NY. Manning is questionable, David Carr might be taking the helm in his place. The Giants lay an egg, win, but not by 17.

49ers(-2.5) vs. Falcons- San Fran giving 2 to falcons are you crazy, Atlanta matches up very well against the 49ers, plus coming off a bye, they will absolutely crush the 49ers. This is my best bet so far this year. Atlanta has too much talent for the 49ers to handle.

Houston(-6) vs. Cardinals- Looks like the Cardinals are having the classic Super Bowl slump, Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald are still not on the same page. Houston needs this game, and will not only cover, but win the game.

Broncos (+3.5) vs. Patriots- It looks like Vegas is begging you to take the Pats in this game. With that being said the Broncos match up well against the Pats. Bailey vs. Moss should be fun to watch. Fred Taylor is out for the Pats this week as well. Brady faces his old offensive coordinator in Josh McDaniels,I I think he exploits Brady’s weaknesses. Also, McDaniel’s is telling his locker room that we are 4-0 and nobody believes in us. Denver loses but keeps it close, take the points.

Seahawks(+3) vs. Jaguars-Don’t really matters who plays for the Seahawks at QB, Seattle should not be getting 3 points at home against the Jags. I know the Jags have been playing well, but stumble this week traveling across the country. Take the points as the Seahawks win.

  1. Eric Feld Said,

Thats a risky call against LSU, I got to take LSU with the points if Tebow doesn't play.
