College Football Picks October 17th

O.K so the GURU is surging with the Pro games after last weeks stellar performance. 11 wins 8 losses so far on the year. Still struggling with the college picks though with 7 wins and 9 losses. I firmly believe to turn around the ship this week in the college. Pro picks later today, college picks right now.

Two huge games this week, and the GURU goes after each one of them, with a few other surprises.

Notre Dame(+10) vs. USC.
USC had a week off last week which is trouble for the Fighting Irish. Have you seen Pete Carroll’s record in Bowl Games with a few weeks to prepare? Nothing will change this week. USC has way more talent that ND, except in the quarterback and wide receiver positions departments which means USC will play conservative run the ball control the clock to get that ND off the field and out of sink. Take USC and lay the points.

Texas(-3.5) vs. Oklahoma
Too many questions for Oklahoma this week in their biggest game of the year. 1) Is Sam Bradford healthy? 2) Who is he going to throw the ball too. 3) Will Oklahoma’s offensive line be able to slow down the Longhorns aggressive pass rush. I don’t know the answer to any of those questions, so I take the Longhorns in what should be a fantastic game.

Wisconsin(-1.5) vs. Iowa
Iowa has been through a series of tuff games in the past three weeks which includes Penn St and Michigan. Both close ones. This week they travel to Wisconsin who plays a very similar style of play as Iowa. Run, Run again, and run some more. Iowa will not be able to cash in on big mistakes because Wisconsin won’t have any. Take Wisconsin in the upset and lay the points.

Ohio State (-12) vs. Purdue
I have taken Ohio State the past three weeks against the Big Ten opponents. We have covered all three weeks. No change this week, Ohio State just beats up on it’s BIG10 oppositions. Enough said, lay the points on the road.

Arkansas(+25) vs. Florida
Florida had its biggest game of the year last week vs. LSU which spells major let down this week. Obviously they don’t lose but 25 points is a huge number to give. I figure Arkansas scores at least 21 points this week( they have scored 40+ in every game but one so far this year) which means Florida has to put up over 46. I don’t think Florida does it, so take the points in the Razorbacks.

Georgia Tech(+3.5) vs. Virginia Tech
Georgia Tech with their option run attack has the ability to keep games close because they control the clock and play good defense. They struggle against teams that have high power offenses which causes Georgia Tech to go down big early. Virginia Tech does not have that offense. Take the points with Georgia Tech.
