Pittsburgh Panthers (-1.5) vs. North Carolina Tar Heels
This game will be played in Charlotte North Carolina so it will basically be a home game for Butch Davis and his Tar Heels. Carolina playing in the Car Care Bowl for the second year in a row with a 8-4 record. The strength of the Tar Heels this years was the defense, who limited offenses to less than 17 points per game. More importantly is their rush defense who was ranked 9th nationally. This will be a game of strength vs. strength as Pittsburgh has the most explosive freshman running back in the country Dion Lewis who has rushed for 1640 yards and 17 touchdowns. This game may very well come down to Quarterback play. If it does, the Tar Heels chances of winning this game shrink dramatically. T.J Yates who had played well at times throwing 12 touchdowns, however is mistake prone throwing 14 picks on the year. Pittsburgh Bill Stull(senior) is much more efficient than Yates, having 21 passes ending up in the end zone with only 8 interceptions. I say take the Panthers in a very evenly matched game, lay the 1.5 as the Panthers probably win by a touchdown.
