Kentucky Wildcats (+7.5) vs Clemson Tigers
This game will come down to one thing….Can Kentucky stop C.J Spiller? If they do they win. The only problem is that only 1 team has been able to stop Spiller so far this year(South Carolina, who held Spiller to 9 carries with 18 yards, but did score on a 88 yard kickoff return) other than South Carolina, Spiller has given defensive coordinators sleepless nights going into the game, and acid reflux after the game. A unbelievable stat that I heard today is that Spiller scores a touchdown every 7 times he touches the ball…that’s bonkers.
Yet there is the possible massive let down that will probably occur for Clemson in this game. After a slow start to the season Clemson wheeled off a 6 game winning streak and was sitting pretty clinching an ACC Championship game berth 1 with one game left on their schedule. That game was South Carolina, Clemson’s arch rival and Clemson was blown out 34-17. I didn’t pay much attention to that game even though it was a rivalry match up because Clemson already clinched their share of the ACC Championship spot. However they lost in the ACC Championship game in a depressing lost to Georgia Tech in the last 2 minutes of the game, a game which Spiller left it all on the field running for 233 yards are 4 touchdowns. So instead of going to a BCS Bowl game, they are playing a scrappy Kentucky team with senior talent that will be pumped up due to being in a bowl game, and having a good coach. I like Kentucky to cover this one in a bit of a shocker, take the 7.5 points in a high scoring match.
